A Brief History of Riley, More Pictures...

Our second ultrasound, 16 weeks, involved an amniocentesis, which looks for genetic abnormalities.
Brief description: 22 gauge needle, 3 inches long inserted into your soft belly down into the amniotic fluid to retrieve a fluid sample.
My experience: The very pretty doctor wasn't enough distraction to ignore the sharp 40 second pain. It was a LONG 40 seconds. Very long.
