The Nemo Summer of Love

Here's the early Summer Update!

It's been a busy spring into summer:

~~ We welcomed Grant into the group of playmates, born June 8th!

~~The new daycare is in full swing & his teacher Nicole loves the boy, which is always nice to hear. He, inturn, loves it there.

~~I did a 10k Mud Run at Camp Pendelton with my dear friend Dierdre, which was hilarious & muddy! We loved it.

~~Lo & I both turned a year older in June, I'm 21 and she's 52. (--> evil grin goes here)

~~We had two of our closest friends visit- Jody and Messina, not the country singer. It felt like old times in Decatur again for a couple of days.

~~Riley got to go the Del Mar Fair, his first fair experience! Full of interesting 'Carney's', cotton candy, hot dogs & ice cream. LIFE IS GOOD.

~~We did some RV camping up to Santa Barbara for the first time. We loved it! It was the Nemo Vacation, as Riley watched Nemo a good 30 times while we were driving around. Plenty of beach hours were spent in my local haunt, Ventura.

Baby Grant! Little over 7 days old at my birthday dinner.

The mommie's. Me, Emma & Tammy- Grant's mom's & Lo. Grant is the tiny thing in the middle.

Aunty's Messina and Jody! Cosmo was certian they had come to take her back to Georgia, she's still here...

Sigmund the Seamonster!! I loved this expression on Bonnie's face- looks like she is eye rolling and laughing!

Ohhh.. What a cute boy! His first ride at the fair!

Who needs fancy toys!?

I'm not sure if that's terror or just gripping to stay up, but I didn't see much. Elephant!! You should see the clean up needs for these things... yeesh.

The Decatur Crew!

Excellent hair peice!

Uh..Interesting swim outfit.

Ri and Lo at the Fair, that big blue eye & meniacal smile is kinda scary, isn't it?

Me & Ri in Santa Barbara on the Pier...Great weather, but the pier doesn't have rails in some places. Ya wonder how many kids/adults have taken a swim?

Solvang! The Danish town above Santa Barbara. It has not changed a bit since I was a kid... You still eat your way from one end of town to the other. Pea Soup Anderson's is still there too!

Train! Riley is newly obsessed with all things train oriented...

Thank the lord for Playdoh, spent lots of time keeping Ri busy while camping.

Me & Ri in Ventura, at my childhood home beach called Mondos. We lived on the beach (in a house) for a good half of my young life.

Lo's first camping experience! She had never been camping other than Girl Scouts as a kid.. She had a blast! What's not to love about camp fires, marshmellows and sleeping in an RV off the ground? I guess Girl Scout's doesn't allow beer...

Me & Ri at that beach at Mondo's. He got all stressed out when I left into the water to go surf...but decided it was ok when he felt how cold it was.

This is the first hour we were camped. Ironically, the instant we sat down- the fire trucks come screaming up the street, the end of the road was on fire... We got to stay, thankfully. Ri loved the trucks and helicopters!

Me & One of oldest friends from high school, Renee.. Funky board paint job! She is learning to surf and did exceptionally well. Not to mention she looked fab in that wetsuit! Love the pose missy..

Renee is the 'individual' she has always been! Love that about her... She is a documentary film maker, activist and wonderful friend.

Cool hair kid!

This is the strip of beach I grew up on. The house at the far end is the one I grew up in, it was hard hard life. Yeah.

Ri is good at sharing...

Mmmm, garden hose water...

Lo & Ri enjoying the hot day at my sisters...we stopped over for a short time on our way home. He loves his Aunt and Uncle!

This would be the pic that sum's up Riley's RV experience. Nemo, Nemo?, Nemo!

Aren't we just the cutest?

The Bonus Pics!!

Dog is my Co-Pilot....

FUTURE ROCK STAR...

RILEY!!!

That's our little 80's star!!
