The Toddler Has Arrived!

Once again - we are posting the latest and greatest from our little household...

Most recently, It's been HOT in San Diego, so we spent alot of the time at the beach or Mission Bay. Riley loves water, as long as it's not moving..thus the bay is his favorite.

We had a great trip in the RV up to Yosemite. Stayed at Bass Lake, which was amazing. Unfortunetly, Riley spiked a fever & started throwing up... We did a mad 8 hour dash back home a day early ( I swear Lo and I gained another 100 gray hair). A short lived virus & two exhausted mom's later... he was fine after 2 days. We still had a great time!

Riley turned 2 in July!

He is certainly the toddler with "NO!", "mine!" and "uhahhhhhhh" ( <-- That's a high pitched WHINE) being his favorite words now. It's official- he's a real kid who throws tantrums, screams when he's tired, wants what he wants YESTERDAY & has finally run us out of a restaurant- though only twice in his life...(not bad for 25 months old) Mostly, he is learning to be more verbal & 'use his words'... He's mostly fun & loves to laugh. Loves his bestfriend Richard, a little asian boy in his daycare- which just makes me smile at how much he loves people. He literally screams, "Teagan!!" when he sees her- with such joy, it's very sweet. He is still shy at times, but very social & a 'watcher' of all things that go on around him. Oh and obsessed with Thomas the Train, Bob the Builder..etc. (These are things that you NEVER knew about when you didn't have a kid...) Lo & I are well & happy. Working, working, working... but such is life! Hard to believe it's nearly a year since we moved back... Time has flown for us. Sometimes, I wish things would just slow down... On to the pics...

Ri got sick on our way to the park the 3rd day, we arrived & parked. We stripped him, cooled him down & let him rest (gotta love the RV)... once he perked up, we did some shaded hiking....Love the hair!
















Bass Lake- this was perfect water, just warm enough to enjoy. It was hot enough to just sit in the water... Riley threw rocks from the shore for hours. He looked for 'big'ems'- big one's- to toss in.

We had Tammy & baby Grant over for a small celebration (Teagan was sick), as Lo was traveling during Riley's birthday weekend.. But somehow we got this HUGE cake!

Mom took some pics of me surfing that weekend.. an old surfer herself, she enjoyed watching.. Typical summer ankle slappers! Wetsuits sure show every inch of your waistline... Ouch.
