Donna & Lois' Big Adventure

Just a short update on the happenings in our lives...

The BIG NEWS- Lois and I are legally married as of Sept 17th 2008. We made it in the window before Prop 8 passed. This also propelled us to get involved and march with 25,000 other people to protest Prop 8. Riley is a 3 year old activist!

Riley has started to 'potty train' though recently he's decided that maybe diapers were really pretty cool. The battle is ongoing...

We had about a day of rain in California that we got to play in afterwards...(see pic on left)

Sadly, we lost both of our cats- Bettie Davis and Joan Crawford..No really, that's thier real names. They were 17yrs & died within 3 weeks of each other. (I think they just missed each other) Riley has dealt with it very well & mentions that he misses them... Lo and I miss them too. Thier little ashy 'boxes' on my dresser keeps them close!

Cosmo's still here.... I'm working on that. Don't tell Lois.

Riley is now 3 and half years old! But he prefers everyone consider him 4. I'm 39 and a half and prefer everyone consider me 27.

We are otherwise doing well & staying close to home for the holidays. The tree is up and we're counting the days till Santa shows...

WHAT is it about a gun that brings a young boy total joy!?? And WHO mounts a machine gun on a toddlers ride anymore??! The parents around me quietly said the same thing!

Ok Clowns freak me out. I admit it. Riley loved the whole experience. Thankfully someone does.

Mary Ann is my medical assistant at work- she's great and so good to Riley! There isn't a morning that passes that doesn't ask me, "How's Riley!?" with a happy cheery voice...I've almost slapped her at least a dozen times.

Tammy, my bestfriend of many years, was our 'witness' at the courthouse 15 minute ceremony to get married. Gotta love shocking the crap out of the folks all around us...Lois booked us in the Chula Vista Courthouse!

A strategy session amongst the toddlers pre-Prop 8 march...It was intense. Then someone had to have thier diaper changed & it ruined the mood.

The very sweet gal who married us. I think she was a little flustered, but she managed to smile through it. Love that oh so progressive Chula Vista! Ok, so it was fine, really. The gal who did the paperwork even said, "this is so exciting! congrats to you both!" and ya know... I think she meant it.

Jill!! This is Riley's favorite babysitter of all time. She and her husband and 'in utero' baby moved back to the east coast... We are still trying to recover! We miss you Jill! TJ too!
